Mission Statement

John Jay College’s Division of Institutional Effectiveness and Strategy (IES) is guided by an institutional effectiveness model that incorporates systemic assessment, integrated planning, data analytics, reporting, predictive modeling, and accreditation for the purposes of developing strategic insights, ensuring compliance, and measuring the achievement of the degree to which we effectively educate for justice.

In recognition of the inclusive nature of the College and the expertise within our community, the division collaborates with and works to empower faculty, staff, and students to engage in innovative and evidence-informed decision-making that enhances student learning, educational outcomes, and organizational effectiveness.

Vision Statement

To be nationally recognized for institutional effectiveness thought leadership, innovative institutional analytic and predictive models, practitioner focused scholarship, and a commitment to both the democratization of information and elimination of student outcome disparities. Through support for and cultivation of a culture of inquiry that values, strengthens, and leverages shared knowledge and expertise across our academic and functional areas, we will bolster the College’s status as an engine for social mobility, equity, and justice.
