Mary Raymond, CPP is an Adjunct Professor in the Security, Fire, and Emergency Management Department since 2015 where she has bought to the classroom her experience and education (B.S. SUNY, 1999 and M.A. SUNY 2004) of over 44 years working in both the public and private sector in the field of security, emergency management, and critical infrastructure protection. 

 

Bio

 Mary Raymond, CPP:

A lifelong New Yorker, she started her technical security career in the United States Army, serving with the White House Communications Agency for 7 years as a communications specialist supporting the White House staff and others.  Upon her discharge in 1983, she worked for the United States Secret Service for 23 years in the Technical Security Division with assignments in Washington, D.C, Los Angeles, and the New York Field Office. She retired in 2006 as the Deputy Division Chief of Field Office Operations and Investigations, overseeing 143 field offices globally.

Upon retirement, she worked with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as the Protective Security Advisor (PSA) for NYC and later was promoted to the Regional Director overseeing critical infrastructure protection for DHS Regions 1 and 2.    

In 2013, she moved to the private sector where she was the Security Director for the NY Mercantile Exchange, a subsidiary of the CME Group where she served for 5 years, overseeing the NY, London, Singapore, and India offices.  Mary then moved to a private hedge fund where she was the Operations Manager, supporting security operations in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.  In 2019, Mary moved to Sotheby’s Auction House where she was the Security Advisor to the Chief Security Officer and Mary has recently moved back to supporting DHS as a Senior Critical Infrastructure Analyst with Idaho National Labs.    

Mary received her Certified Protection Professional certification (CPP) in 2006 and is an active member of the NY ASIS Chapter and the National Technical Investigators Asociation (NATIA).
