EDGE Fellowship Program

The EDGE Fellowship Program provides a limited number of paid work opportunities for eligible undergraduate CUNY EDGE students. The primary goal of the Fellowship program is to support CUNY EDGE students with meeting HRA compliance requirements while gaining valuable work experience, professional development, and engagement in other meaningful campus opportunities. Eligibility:

  • You must be a matriculated Undergraduate CUNY EDGE Student
  • You must have an Active HRA Benefits case
  • Human Resource Administration determines eligibility and the number of hours each student is assigned

How to participate in the EDGE Fellowship Program

Step 1
Submit your E-Signature, FERPA, and Intake forms to cunyedge@jjay.cuny.edu.

Step 2
Get your HRA-154 School Letter form completed by the CUNY EDGE Office for submission to HRA TAG (Training Assessment Group)

Step 3
TAG determines your eligibility partly based on:

  • the number of hours reflected on your FIA School Letter; and
  • your individual case type

TAG will assign the total number of weekly hours you may work.

Step 4

  • TAG refers all eligible students to attend the CUNY EDGE mandatory introductory orientation and three professional development seminars
  • Attend a Payroll Orientation
  • Start HRA Fellowship placement site process

How to secure a placement site for fellowship hours

Step 1
Complete a short application form providing:

  • Contact information, skill set, interests, major
  • Hours of availability
  • Resume submission

​Step 2
Program coordinator matches student accordingly to possible on-campus departments/worksites and student is scheduled for an interview. 

Step 3
Once hired, student will begin working hours assigned by HRA. 

Step 4

Student meets with the Program Coordinator monthly to continue their professional, personal, and academic development.
