Re: Strategic Planning
As we move towards midterms after a cold and snowy winter, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the hard work and determination of our students. For many, this semester also marks your final semester as you prepare for graduation—an important milestone worthy of celebration. I extend my sincere appreciation to our faculty and staff, whose continued commitment and support make these achievements possible. Your collective work strengthens both our students and our shared community.
In December, I shared that the Strategic Planning Subcommittee (SPS) had approved a draft version of the 2025-2030 strategic plan for review. I am pleased to share that after receiving feedback from more than 250 individuals through facilitation sessions convened this spring, governance meetings, and the completion of the online review forms, we have a final framework for your review. You can find the online review form, which will remain open until April 13th, on the College’s strategic planning webpage. All responses to the form are anonymous. You are also invited to an open forum that will be held on Tuesday, March 31, during community hour in 630 Haaren Hall.
The SPS will be meeting in mid-April to finalize the documents ahead of a proposed college council vote in May. As we come to the close of this extensive planning process, I want to thank everyone who has participated – from the nearly 450 individuals who participated in focus groups during the spring and fall of 2025 to those who have attended the open forums, facilitation meetings, and governance meetings. I want to share a heartfelt thank you to both the voting and visiting members of the SPS, who have shepherded this inclusive and iterative process.
Thank you,
Karol V. Mason
