Class Schedule & Course Registration

John Jay College offers a variety of courses and programs. The Registrar Scheduling Unit maintains course and classroom scheduling. To learn more about the courses currently being offered at John Jay College, you can access the Schedule Builder by logging into your CUNYfirst account or visit the Global Class Search.

• Registration Holds 
  Registration holds may restrict a student's ability to enroll in courses. Students must resolve all applicable holds before registering for classes. 
    
  To check for holds in CUNYfirst:  
  • Log in CUNYfirst with your username and password.  
  • Select the Student Center tile or link from the menu.  
  • Click on the Tasks and Holds tile.  
  • Review the Holds section to see any active negative service indicators or restrictions.  
  • Click on a specific hold to view details like the date applied, issuing department, and instructions to resolve it.
     
• Enrollment Appointment
  Students must have an appointment in order to enroll in courses for a given semester. Check your registration appointment in CUNYfirst before registering for classes to see the date and time your enrollment window opens.
   
• Requesting Class Permission
  Class permission is managed by the department offering the course. Requirements and eligibility for permission vary by course and department. Please visit the John Jay Academic Department directory to identify and contact the appropriate department for information about course-specific requirements, enrollment restrictions, and permission procedures. 
   
• Schedule Builder
