Conference Information

We highly recommend that students attend professional conferences to broaden their knowledge or apply to be a speaker on a panel, which would be very helpful for their resumes and future career paths. In addition, students could apply for travel funding via [https://www.jjay.cuny.edu/studenttravel] to attend these great conferences.

Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS)
The annual meeting of the Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS) will be held from 23–25 June 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya, co-hosted by the University of Nairobi and the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs at Northeastern University. The theme will be “Environmental Multilateralism and Human Development”.

Scholars, students, practitioners, UN staff and delegates are invited to submit proposals to the conference. Whilst the deadline for submission has passed ACUNS has graciously reopened the submission portal until 24th January 2025, 11:59pm EST to allow partners like you to submit proposals.
You do not have to be an ACUNS member to submit a proposal.

It is NOT essential that your proposal fits into one of the ten suggested thematic categories in order to submit a panel/roundtable/individual paper proposal. You may choose the category that most loosely connects to your proposal's theme.

Some limited travel support is available to facilitate the participation of speakers from the global majority (developing) countries through the Global South Scholar Travel Fund.
