Program Description
The DIS Abroad study abroad program allows students to spend a semester (fall or spring) or summer session(s) in either Copenhagen, Denmark or Stockholm, Sweden - even allowing both locations during the summer by mixing and matching summer sessions! This Scandinavian program is open to all undergraduate students. DIS Abroad offers over 340 courses, all taught in English by experts in their fields and enriched by hands-on learning, taking you beyond the classroom to bring theory to life.
Information Sessions
Info sessions will be held in September. In the meantime, please schedule an advising with Daniel Braslavsky, Study Abroad Coordinator, to learn more.
Academics
The semester and summer program to Copenhagen and/or Stockholm is open to all undergraduates. Students who participate in a traditional study-abroad program can take between 12-15 credits during the semester terms or up to 9 credits during the summer.
DIS Semester
Design your semester at DIS, where hundreds of courses across many disciplines are offered, giving you the opportunity to study abroad while earning credits, deepening knowledge in your field, and discovering new areas of interest. Choose between 4-5 classes (12-15 credits) for the same price.
A signature experience of a semester with DIS is the Core Course, which includes two faculty-led Study Tours. Your choice of Core Course also determines your study location — either Copenhagen or Stockholm. Travel with your classmates and see your academics from a new perspective through Study Tours, a signature part of the DIS experience. Led by your faculty, Study Tours take you into real-world settings where you will apply what you’ve learned outside the classroom. Most Core Courses include a Long Study Tour and a Short Study Tour to gain more knowledge and firsthand experience. The Long Study Tour is roughly 5-6 days taking place elsewhere in Europe, and the Short Study Tour is normally a weekend.
DIS Summer
DIS offers up to 3, 3-week summer sessions. Choose one course per session. For instance, you can stay for 1 session taking 3 credits, or 2 sessions taking 6 credits. These sessions can be held in various locations, including Copenhagen, Stockholm, or Greenland. Get the most out of your summer by staying for multiple sessions. Session 2 offers week-long Study Tours.
