CUNY Work
Welcome to the CUNYWork @ John Jay Resource Hub dedicated to our campus-specific information and updates on the CUNY's Workday project. CUNYWork is a university-wide initiative to implement Workday, a modern cloud-based system that will replace CUNY’s outdated HR and finance systems. Launching in late 2027 across all 26 campuses and the Central Office, Workday will replace CUNYfirst and will become the primary system used by HR and Finance staff for their day-to-day functions, such as payroll, time and leave, procurement, budgeting, and financial reporting. Additionally, all CUNY employees will use Workday for employee self-service functions.
By streamlining core business processes into one integrated system, CUNYWork will reduce reliance on more than 200 manual and shadow systems. This transformation will help CUNY work smarter and more efficiently through a user-friendly interface, faster processes, real-time data, and improved collaboration.
We recognize that a transition of this scale requires ongoing communication and support. This page provides a quick access to necessary resources and contacts. Additional updates, training materials, and detailed process guides will be shared as we progress through implementation.
If you have questions at any point, please feel free to reach out to our campus team members to discuss the transition and address any concerns.
