I am pleased to share that Brad Kovaleski will join John Jay College as vice president for enrollment management and student affairs in May 2026.

A mission-driven higher education leader, Brad brings substantial senior experience at public colleges and universities, a deep understanding of the students and communities we serve and a strong record of adapting programs and processes to meet their evolving needs. His initiatives at the Community College of Philadelphia include collaborating with enrollment services to align recruitment, retention and completion strategies and leading a comprehensive portfolio of student success initiatives. Earlier in his career at Penn State, Brad led cross-campus task forces that streamlined the enrollment process, integrated student success technologies and expanded support for underserved populations.

During his visit to John Jay, Brad met with members of the Enrollment Management and Student Affairs (EMSA) team as well as students, faculty and staff. I carefully reviewed community feedback in making this appointment and I thank everyone who contributed their time and perspective. I am also grateful to members of the search committee (see list below) who reviewed 149 applications and interviewed 10 candidates.

At John Jay, Brad’s initial priority will be collaborating with EMSA colleagues and campus stakeholders to develop a strategic enrollment plan that engages Generation Z, anticipates the needs of Generation Alpha and positively positions the College in the changing higher education landscape. He is eager to connect with the EMSA team and will meet with them during visits he plans to make over the course of the spring semester.
