Why does John Jay rent out its space?
Money earned through John Jay space rentals helps to fund student programs, such as athletics, theater activities, and student scholarships and housing. Without earning money through space rentals, John Jay would not be able to fund all of these important student supports and activities. This funding happens through the Auxiliary Services Corporation.
Whenever possible, the College seeks to rent space during times that would cause minimal campus disruption, such as evenings, weekends and holidays. Information on the official process for scheduling external events is available for review at: http://www.jjay.cuny.edu/sites/default/files/Finance_Administration/eventshandbook.pdf
