RE:  Property Management’s 2026 Annual Re-Inventory of Capital Assets and Sensitive Equipment

As per the University’s Asset Management Policy, Property Management commenced its annual re-inventory of the College’s Capital Assets and sensitive equipment for calendar year 2026. Public Safety will accompany and provide access to departments to complete scanning and/ or attach RFID tag(s) to equipment.

Please note, the Laptop Scanning Station will open in the main lobby of the New Building between the hours of 12:00pm (noon) - 4:00pm, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, for the period Tuesday, February 17 through Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

  • Thus, I urge faculty and staff to bring in their remote laptops and sensitive equipment for scanning and, if applicable, to obtain a new RFID tag.
  • All equipment purchased through all College entities, including the Research Foundation are required to be scanned.
  • If you would like to make special arrangements to scan equipment, you can contact Louis A. Perillo, Property Manager, at loperillo@jjay.cuny.edu.
  • Failure to bring equipment for scanning will result in items being reported as stolen, and access to the College’s network resources being disabled.

The entire College community is responsible for safeguarding property and fixed assets. User Departments are responsible for the stewardship and whereabouts of capital assets and equipment, and College administrators are responsible for ensuring all departments comply with inventory procedures.

I’d like to thank everyone for their participation in the 2025 Asset Management exercise. Your efforts and compliance contributed to the College’s ability to achieve the University’s 2025 targets.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email Mr. Louis A. Perillo, Property Manager, at loperillo@jjay.cuny.edu, or me at hcedeno@jjay.cuny.edu.

Thank you.

Helen Cedeno,
Assistant Vice President for Finance
