CLERY CRIME ALERT
Crime Alerts are posted in an effort to make John Jay College aware of any situation that poses a potential threat to the safety and well-being of those who live, work, attend and visit the campus. By keeping you aware of crimes occurring in your community, the Department of Public Safety hopes to encourage you to become actively involved in crime prevention. This alert has been approved by the Director of Public Safety, Diego Redondo, and is intended to promote safety on campus and to comply, in part, with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security and Crime Statistics Act of 1990.

Assault with a knife – victim is unaffiliated with the College

899 10th Avenue, New York, NY 10019: front steps of Haaren Hall.
Subject/Respondent Description:
One Unidentified Male – dark-skinned, possibly middle-aged – fled the scene
Crime Prevention Tips:
- Be aware of your surroundings.
- Report all suspicious activity to the Public Safety Department immediately.
- Trust your instincts, if you do not feel comfortable in a place or situation - leave immediately.
- Whenever possible, stay in well-lit, populated areas on and off campus.
