The evaluation of professional activities is a critical component of maintaining academic and professional excellence at John Jay College. Supervisors have been notified of the requirements and deadlines for completing the 2025 Annual Performance Evaluations for Non-Teaching Instructional Staff.

Employees in the Higher Education Officer (HEO) series, College Laboratory Technician (CLT) titles, Research Associate titles, and other non-teaching instructional titles will be evaluated using the University-recommended Memorandum of Evaluation Conference – Non-Teaching Instructional Staff Evaluations will cover the period January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025.

A central element of the evaluation process is the evaluation conference between the employee and supervisor. Employees should receive advance notice of the conference and are encouraged to review the evaluation instrument in advance to support a meaningful discussion of overall performance and professional development. While employees may provide comments during the conference, they may not be required to submit a written self-evaluation, and no written self-evaluations will be collected or maintained in their personnel files.

Following the evaluation conference, supervisors must complete the evaluation memorandum and provide a copy to the employee within ten (10) working days. Employees are required to sign the form to acknowledge receipt and may indicate disagreement, if applicable. In cases of an unsatisfactory evaluation, employees have the right to submit a written rebuttal, which will be attached to the evaluation and included in the personnel file.

In accordance with Article 18.3(d) of the PSC/CUNY Agreement, employees whose annual evaluation conference has not been scheduled by March 1 shall, within 10 working days thereafter, request a conference with their supervisor. Employees are therefore strongly encouraged to contact their immediate supervisor to schedule the evaluation conference if it has not yet been arranged.

All evaluations must be completed and submitted by supervisors to Human Resources no later than March 11, 2026, atemp_eval_heo_hr@jjay.cuny.edu.
