RE: Possible Long Island Rail Road Strike

We are monitoring the possibility of a Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) strike. At this time, college operations and final exams will continue as scheduled.

For students

Please plan for alternative transportation in the event of a service disruption. We understand that delays may occur. If you’re impacted by transportation issues, please notify your faculty member(s) as soon as possible. We encouraged faculty members to be flexible.

For faculty and staff

We recognize that transportation disruptions may impact your commute. If you're a supervisor, please be flexible, where operationally feasible, with staff members who experience delayed arrivals due to transit issues.

Faculty members are encouraged to exercise flexibility with students affected by commuting disruptions and, where appropriate, work with them on reasonable accommodations.
