Bio

Anthony Guerne began his career in medicine in 1990 as an emergency medical technician.  In 1994 he became a paramedic and began working in the City of New York’s 911 system and as a critical care transport specialist.  In that time he began teaching new EMT’s and paramedics with a variety of educational agencies.  After almost 20 years as a clinician he took a full-time educational role as the simulation specialist at the NYIT-College of Osteopathic Medicine.  After opening the simulation center at the Columbia University Department of Anesthesia, he moved on to the Adelphi University College of Nursing and Public Health as their simulation specialist where he remains today.  He still works as a paramedic for a variety of volunteer agencies in Suffolk County, teaches EMS and continuing education courses for the County, is a member of the Regional Emergency Medical Advisory Committee (REMAC) and is American Heart Association Regional Faculty.  Anthony lives in Hauppauge, New York with his wife Jennifer, their two children, Abby and A.J., and their bulldog Lola.
