Bio
Kaci Harrison is an Adjunct Lecturer at John Jay College and a PhD Candidate at The Graduate Center, CUNY.
Her research lies at the intersections of aesthetics, the philosophy of art, ethics, and social epistemology. Her dissertation revitalizes a play theory of art by exploring the relationship between aesthetic experiences and play experiences, addressing debates regarding the separation of the artwork from the artist, the paradox of painful art, and generative-AI’s relationship to art. She primarily teaches courses in aesthetics and ethics, striving to make philosophy accessible, meaningful, and applicable to every student.
