Bio

Kostas A. Katsavdakis, Ph.D., ABPP is a Licensed Psychologist and Diplomate in Forensic Psychology with the American Board of Professional Psychology. Dr. Katsavdakis has 30 years of experience with conducting Behavioral Threat Assessments, Forensic Evaluations as well as Clinical Assessment and Treatment for adult and juvenile populations.

Dr. Katsavdakis conducts behavioral threat assessments across contexts, including at the request of the United States Department of Justice for counterterrorism matters, workplace targeted violence, within K-12 settings, campus settings as well as in stalking cases. Dr. Katsavdakis is retained by Prosecutors, Defense Attorneys and the State/Federal Court to evaluate defendants charged with violent sexual and violent non-sexual crimes.

Dr. Katsavdakis presents nationally on topics such as Threat Assessment and Management and evaluating violent criminal offenders. He is currently an Associate Professor-Adjunct at John Jay College of Criminal Justice where he teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in psychology of criminal behavior, forensic psychological testing, assessment of psychopathy and psychology/law.

Dr. Katsavdakis earned his B.A. from Bernard M. Baruch College and his Ph.D. from the California School of Professional Psychology, San Diego. He completed 2 post-doctoral fellowships, one at the Karl Menninger School of Psychiatry and Mental Health Sciences in Topeka, Kansas. He earned his Board Certification in Forensic Psychology, under the American Board of Professional Psychology in October of 2013. He is currently a Board Member of the American Board of Forensic Psychology.
