Marisa Tramontano is a Doctoral Lecturer in Sociology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice where she is the Faculty Advisor for the Annual Review of Criminal Justice Studies and Students for Justice in Palestine. For a decade before joining John Jay full time, Marisa was an independent scholar and educator, teaching at Hunter, Pace, and New York University's Gallatin School for Individualized Studies and the School of Professional Studies Center for Global Affairs. She received a PhD in Sociology and a Graduate Certification in Gender Studies from the CUNY Graduate Center, a MS in Global Affairs from New York University, and a BA in History from the University of Albany (SUNY).
