Obasaju
Dr. Mayowa Obasaju is a licensed clinical and community psychologist, trainer, educator, and supervisor based in New York City with experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses as well as facilitating workshops on social justice, social equity, mental health, and clinical supervision. She has a PhD. from Georgia State University in Clinical and Community Psychology and bachelor’s degree in psychology and religious studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has specialized experience in trauma and healing work, Internal Family Systems, perinatal mental health, liberation-oriented psychology, and multicultural family systems. Her clinical interests include healing from interpersonal, generational, and systemic trauma, (in)fertility and mental wellness, perinatal mental health, somatic work, and liberation-oriented therapies for oppressed women and gender expansive folks of color and LGTQIA+ communities. In addition to teaching, she works as therapist in her private practice and co-owns a social impact firm. She is in the process of co-authoring with Dr. Pamela LiVecchi, an open access workbook and facilitation guide on integrating liberation psychology in teaching.
