Bio

Michael Blitz is Professor of  Interdisciplinary Studies (where he served as Chair from 1999 - 2009). He joined the John Jay College faculty in 1988 after two years as Associate Director of Composition at Rutgers University. In addition, Michael Blitz holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Krav Maga (the official self-defense system of the Israeli Defense Forces [IDF]) and has taught Krav Maga to adults and children since 2001. Michael lives on Long Island with his wife, Mozelle; they have four children: Celine, Daina, Cory, and Rene.
