Bio
Yue Ma is a faculty member in the Department of Law and Police Science at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He received his Ph.D. from Rutgers University. Dr. Ma also holds a J.D. from Rutgers University Law School and an L.L.M. from University of Minnesota Law School. Dr. Ma is interested in the comparative study of legal and criminal justice issues. He has published articles exploring a wide range of legal and criminal justice issues in the cross-nation context. Among the topics covered by his research and articles are: development of criminal justice standards in Europe under the European Convention on Human Rights; comparative analyses of exclusionary rules, prosecutorial discretion and plea bargaining, and judicial roles in supervising prosecutors; comparison of lay participation in criminal trials and the laws of interrogation. Dr. Ma has also published articles and book chapters on China’s criminal justice system.
