Meet Gabriel Martinez!

My name is Gabriel Martinez, and I am a Macaulay Honors and McNair Scholar student majoring in Forensic Science. 

This past summer, I joined a new lab Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I am currently a student researcher at Dr. Champeil's lab, where I synthesize and test a novel chemotherapeutic drug. 

Outside of school, I enjoy going out with friends, playing video games, going on hikes, and practicing sports such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. 

My current career goal is PhD in Chemistry, and I am considering getting an MD as well (MD/PhD). In the future, I would love to do research on an international/federal level, either with the World Health Organization (W.H.O.) or the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
