Meet Mashiyat Karim!

Hey everyone! My name is Mashiyat and I am a junior majoring in CSIS with double minors in Fraud Examination and Accounting. 

I currently work as a tutor in the SEEK department at John Jay tutoring English, Writing, College Algebra, and Introduction to Computer Science. I like to read leisurely when I have free time, I love classic literature and dystopian novels. I’m rebuilding the Girls Who Code Club at John Jay, feel free to reach out if you’re interested! 

I’m excited to be working with PRISM as a Peer Mentor for Computer Science this semester because I want to build support for incoming students to navigate college, and help find opportunities that align with their goals.

Dream Career: I aspire to bridge my passions of technology and finance in my career, so I’m pursuing risk management and fraud detection under cybersecurity.
