Armed & Dangerous: Naming Police Violence as a Form of Structural Oppression & Sufficient Cause of Health Inequities

Join Dr. Dustin Duncan from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University and Dr. Lissette Delgado-Cruzata of John Jay College for a lecture that will shed light on the often-overlooked impact of police harassment as a structural determinant of health among Black sexual minorities. Drawing from research, participants will discuss how neighborhood policing practices and violence correlate with mental health burdens, substance use, and healthcare utilization among Black sexual minority men and Black transgender women.

This event will be live-streamed on the John Jay College YouTube channel. RSVP here to attend.
