Calling all instrumentalists, singers & songwriters! The Art & Music Department is holding a meeting of the John Jay Jazz & Contemporary Music Ensemble. The ensemble is open to any instrumentalist, vocalist or producer with at least one year of experience
playing music (self-taught musicians are welcome!).
The ensemble will:
- learn basic improvisation skills
- learn contemporary and classic repertoire (including funk, soul, etc)
- revitalize our performing in a safe and welcoming environment
- help to shape the course a new performing arts ensemble at John Jay
- Music sightreading is helpful, but not required to participate in this ensemble
Piano, keyboard, drums, percussion & amplifiers will be provided. Show up on November 19 for community hour, bring a friend and make your voice heard for this new arts initiative at John Jay College of Criminal Justice!
