In 2023, Governor Kathy Hochul appointed Judge Fernandez to Court of Claims. Two years later he was appointed Acting Supreme Court Justice in the Bronx by Chief Administrative Judge Zayas. Educated at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Law, Judge Fernandez received notable scholarships for his academic excellence.
