What does it mean to be white in Latin America? Blanquitudes, developed with MECILA, examines the diverse, context-specific forms whiteness takes across the region — not physical traits, but the structures of privilege, emotion, cultural practice and national narrative that sustain racism under the guise of racial mixing. Drawing on critical scholarship from the Global South, the book traces the everyday and historical threads of white privilege in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and beyond.
