Assistive Technology Workshop
Join the Office of Accessibility Services for our Assistive Technology Workshop designed to help students explore tools that support:
- Learning
- Organization
- Reading
- Writing
- And overall academic success
These workshop sessions will introduce helpful technologies available through Accessibility Services and show how they can be used to make coursework more accessible and manageable. There are two sessions for this workshop, one in-person on Wednesday, September 16th and the other remote on Thursday, September 17th. Both sessions are held during community hour from 1:40 PM to 2:40 PM. Pizza will be served at the in-person session!

Semester Kick Off Event
Join us as we kick off the semester together! Come learn about our services, meet our staff and set yourself up for success this semester. You can expect to:
- Meet our team - get to know our staff and learn how we can support you
- Explore our services - discover accommodations, resources, and support available to students
- Get your questions answered - learn more about the process and what to expect when working with our office
- Connect & Enjoy - meet other students, connect with us, and enjoy some food while kicking off the semester

Accommodations 101 Workshop
Join us for an informational workshop designed to help students better understand disability accommodations and how to successfully access support services at John Jay College. This session will go through the following:
- How to register and request accommodations through Accessibility Services
- Common classroom accommodations explained
- How to communicate with professors
- Tips for self-advocacy and success
This workshop will have two separate sessions. One in-person session on Monday, September 28th and one remote session on Thursday, October 1st. Both sessions will be held during community hour from 1:40 PM to 2:40 PM. Pizza will be served at the in-person session!

Overcoming Test Anxiety Workshop
Join us for a supportive and interactive workshop to learn:
- Practical strategies to manage test stress
- Relaxation and focus techniques
- How to prepare effectively and boost confidence
- Resources available through Accessibility Services
This workshop will be held in two sessions. One session will be in-person on October 6th and the other session remotely on October 20th. Both sessions will be held during community hour from 1:40 PM to 2:40 PM. Pizza will be served at the in-person session!

Study Skills Workshop
Join the Office of Accessibility Services in our interactive workshop to learn practical strategies that can help you improve your learning, stay organized, and feel more confident in the classroom. In this workshop, you will learn:
- Effective note-taking strategies
- Proven study techniques that improve retention
- How to prepare for quizzes and exams with confidence
This workshop will be held in two sessions. One session will be in-person on October 13th while the other session will be held remote on October 16th. Both sessions will be held during community hour from 1:40 PM to 2:40 PM. Pizza will be served during the in-person session!

College Survival Tips Workshop
Join us for an interactive workshop designed to help you build the skills and confidence needed to thrive in college. In this workshop, you'll learn how to:
- Navigate college life: Learn how to adjust to campus life and build confidence
- Build your support network: Connect with peers, professors, and campus resources
- Set yourself up for success: Develop habits that help you stay motivated and achieve your goals
This workshop will be held on two separate dates. One session is in-person and held on October 19th, while the other session will be held remote on October 22nd. Both sessions will take place during community hour from 1:40 PM to 2:40 PM. Pizza will be served at in-person session!
