Mission, Vision & Values

Mission

The Ellis Island Honors Society Immigrant Student Success Center was created to provide legal, academic, financial, and socioemotional support to immigrant, undocumented, DACA, TPS, refugee students, and students in mixed-status families. Our staff works toward providing a welcoming safe space that helps our students develop a sense of community, emotional well-being, and empowerment.

Vision

To create spaces that empower and support undocumented and immigrant students academic and personal success.

Values

We understand that that the immigration system impacts undocumented and immigrant students beyond the classroom, and we aim to provide holistic services that center students mental health and wellbeing.

We center community building, leadership and self-advocacy as a way of resistance to xenophobic immigration policies that impact student lives.

We center the voices and experiences of directly impacted students to take action through resources, community building, and programming.

We support all students, families, and communities impacted by our immigration system, including students in mixed status families.
