Thinking about your major? If you want to declare, change, or re-declare your major, Sept. 17 is the deadline to do so for Fall 2026: Declaration of Major Application. Take some time this week to check in on your academic plan. Are you making progress toward your degree? Is your current major still a good fit for your goals? As your interests and goals develop, it’s common to make adjustments to your academic plan.

Keep building on your progress day to day: organize your assignments, prioritize upcoming deadlines, and connect with your professors and tutoring centers for support when you need it.

Did you know that connecting with your professors can increase your academic success, help you find mentors, and open doors for future opportunities? Try these tips: 1) Introduce yourself early, 2) Visit office hours, 3) Participate in class, and 4) Ask questions when you need help. Staying connected also means staying connected online! Set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) by Sept. 21 to keep access to your email, Brightspace, CUNYfirst, and Navigate360. Start this week—your future self will thank you!

Start September strong, Bloodhound! Showing up to class and staying active in Brightspace are two of the best ways to stay on track. Attendance verification for Financial Aid purposes runs Sept. 4–17, so be sure to attend your classes, whether online or in person. If you’re marked as never attended during this period, you may receive a WN grade. Need to make a schedule change? Sept. 10 is the last day for a 50% tuition refund, and Sept. 17 is the last day to drop without a W.
