Program Description
John Jay College’s affiliated program through the University of Westminster offers students the opportunity to study in London for a semester or full academic year, offering courses for both undergraduate and graduate students. The University of Westminster is located in the heart of London and combines an international curriculum with a distinctive London-focused academic experience. By choosing to study in London, students immerse themselves in one of the world’s most dynamic cities—rich in history, culture, and global influence. London serves as an extended classroom, allowing students to engage directly with its cultural, financial, and political institutions.
Students enroll directly at the University of Westminster and have the flexibility to “mix and match” courses across multiple academic disciplines. In addition, students may choose to participate in an optional part-time internship (approximately 14 hours per week), gaining professional experience in an international setting. Students will reside in University of Westminster housing or approved accommodations. Housing typically consists of single rooms in residence halls with 24-hour security, swipe-card entry systems, and access to nearby transportation and amenities.
A summer option is also available via the University of Westminster Summer School.
Students from all majors are encouraged to apply.

Information sessions are offered throughout the academic year. Please check back in late August for upcoming dates.
Academics
Students can choose from a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses. Courses are taught by experienced faculty and allow students to take advantage of Westminster’s diverse academic offerings while using London as their classroom.
Students may enroll in courses across various disciplines, including:

- Computer Science
- Criminal Justice, Criminology, and Law
- Digital Media, Graphic Design, Music, and Photography

Please note: An application fee of $50.00 is due at the time of application. It can be paid by debit or credit card. Money orders, personal checks and cash are also accepted. Applications will not be accepted if incomplete.
Program Cost
Estimate Program Fee + 12 Credits: $13,500**
**Subject to change. Includes tuition, international health insurance, and various Westminster services and amenities. Does not include accommodations, airfare, meals, textbooks, personal expenses, personal excursions, etc.

Students should meet with their home institution’s Financial Aid Office to determine eligibility for applying financial aid toward the program.

Program Notes
Housing:
Students are housed in single-occupancy accommodations provided by the University of Westminster or approved providers. Residence halls include 24-hour security and are self-catering (no meal plans). Students choose between Alexander Fleming and Harrow Hall. Details can be found on the Westminster housing page.

Refund Policy:
Students who withdraw after confirming participation may lose their deposit and any unrecoverable costs. Once the program begins, no refunds are issued. All refund requests must be submitted in writing. Payment of the program deposit indicates the student understands and agrees to the Office of International Studies & Program’s payment and refund policies. Withdrawal and refund policies for the University of Westminster semester program follows the University of Westminster program withdrawal and refund policies as stated on the Westminster terms and conditions.

- Program details, including costs and dates, are subject to change
- The OISP has the right to modify or cancel the program, including changes to the program dates, costs, scheduled visits, program itinerary, etc., as dictated by economic and/or political situations, etc.
- Fluctuating exchange rates and other fees may lead to program cost changes
- Students who wish to arrive earlier or depart later than the program dates are responsible for any, and all, additional costs including, but not limited to, accommodations, meals, etc. until the program start date and after the end date
- Since the course will be taught by a foreign, non-CUNY, faculty member, the credits earned will be posted as transfer credit on the student’s transcript
- Students are responsible for airfare and travel arrangements
- Airfare should not be purchased until instructed by the study abroad office
- Attendance at orientation is mandatory
- Course schedules and exam dates cannot be changed
- Students arriving early or departing late are responsible for additional costs
