Our Mission and Values

The Center for Private Security and Safety is dedicated to the professionalization of the private security industry and its aligned safety constituencies in fire and emergency management. The Center develops joint partnerships with both public and private safety providers and serves the corporate and industrial complex and institutions that are in need of asset and personal protection. The Center designs and delivers professional development and education programs, short-term training segments, and certificate courses to communities of practice in both a residential and online format.

Additionally, the Center edits and publishes a journal, offers relevant white papers, monitors and advises on changes to particular state industry mandates and actively contributes to the development of “best practices” for the private security industry at the local, state, national and international level. The Center builds relationships and partnerships with other institutions, organizations and groups in the U.S. and abroad and supports projects within the security and security related industry.
