Deadlines

October 31 Deadline for summer/fall graduates to pay their tuition in full and apply for graduation in CUNYfirst. 

March 31 Deadline for winter/spring graduates to pay their tuition in full and apply for graduation in CUNYfirst. | Deadline for summer 2026 graduates to pay their spring tuition in full. 

May 1 Deadline to register for summer classes and apply for graduation in CUNYfirst if you have two summer courses or LESS to participate in the spring commencement ceremony. 

July 31 Deadline to apply for graduation in CUNYfirst and pay tuition in full if you have MORE than two summer courses to participate in the following spring commencement ceremony.

Commencement Vendors

Students must wear a cap and gown to enter the Commencement venue and participate in the ceremony: https://oakhallcg.com/pages/johnjay

  •  Monday, November 9th each day through Friday, November 13th
  • Tuesday, December 15th each weekday through Monday, December 21st, 2026
  •  Monday, February 1st through Friday, February 5th
  • Monday, February 8th through Thursday, February 11th
  • Tuesday, February 16th through Friday, February 19th, 2027

If you cannot make the on-campus times above you can make an appointment to take graduation portraits at their studio by visiting  www.ThorntonStudio.com use the code studio. If a student has any questions, please have them contact the studio directly at info@ThorntonStudio.com.
