October 31 Deadline for summer/fall graduates to pay their tuition in full and apply for graduation in CUNYfirst.

March 31 Deadline for winter/spring graduates to pay their tuition in full and apply for graduation in CUNYfirst. | Deadline for summer 2026 graduates to pay their spring tuition in full.

May 1 Deadline to register for summer classes and apply for graduation in CUNYfirst if you have two summer courses or LESS to participate in the spring commencement ceremony.

July 31 Deadline to apply for graduation in CUNYfirst and pay tuition in full if you have MORE than two summer courses to participate in the following spring commencement ceremony.

OakHall: Order your cap and gown

Students must wear a cap and gown to enter the Commencement venue and participate in the ceremony: https://oakhallcg.com/pages/johnjay

The deadline to purchase regalia is April 27, 2026.

Purchase a John Jay Stole

The John Jay stole is a sash-like regalia accessory worn by graduates during the commencement ceremony to symbolize achievements, affiliations, or honors.

ON-CAMPUS: It is available for purchase ($22) at the Bloodhound Depot in New Building L2.83 (while supplies last*).

ONLINE: It is available for purchase ($22) online here; a shipping charge will be applied.

Thornton Studios: Order graduation portraits

You can take graduation portraits at www.ThorntonStudio.com using the code studio. If a student has any questions, please have them contact the studio directly at info@ThorntonStudio.com.

Please note that the deadline for photos to be included in the yearbook has already passed.
