Bio

Sarah E. Feliciano, M.A., is a researcher, adjunct lecturer, and Director of Master’s Program Administration in the Department of Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. With a Master’s in Forensic Mental Health Counseling, Feliciano brings a trauma-informed approach to her research on abusive dynamics. Her research spans multiple studies at John Jay, including a project she spearheaded on confessions in intimate partner homicide, which was published in the FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin in 2020.

Feliciano has also collaborated with Dr. Chitra Raghavan for several years, focusing on an in-depth examination of the psychological tactics cultic groups use to control members. This work has been presented at major conferences, including the American Society of Criminology and the American Psychological Association, bridging the fields of criminology, psychology, and victimology to advance interdisciplinary dialogues on trauma, victimization, and psychological abuse.
