Jeffrey Kroessler Memorial Scholarship

Dr. Jeffrey A. Kroessler (1952-2023) was professor, interim Chief Librarian and Director of the Justice in New York Oral History Project at the Lloyd Sealy Library. A well-respected historian, he published several important books, lectured widely, and wrote opinion pieces on New York City history and historical preservation.

The Jeffrey Kroessler Memorial Scholarship was created to honor Dr. Kroessler’s remarkable contributions and years of service to John Jay College and the city he loved. The scholarship will support undergraduate students interested in New York City history, historical  preservation, and/or intending to pursue graduate studies in history or library science.
