Jeffery R. Thweatt, Jr. was vivacious, loving, creative, and had boundless energy. He served over 20 years with the New York City Police Department (NYPD), dedicating himself to ensuring the safety of family, friends, and the residents of New York City. The service of giving oneself to protect and keep those around him safe came naturally to Jeffery. He retired as Sergeant with the NYPD in February 2020.

Jeffery served the citizens of New York in various capacities garnering him experience in managing investigations and securing and protecting assets for communities, businesses, and educational organizations. He was persuasive, an articulate leader, and had vast experience in all aspects of law enforcement, communications, public relations, program management, and team building.

Following Jeffery’s time in law enforcement, he worked in multiple federal and private security related roles. He was an active and dedicated alumnus returning to John Jay College for continuing education and professional development courses.
