Your Voice Counts: Annual Youth Voter Assistance Advisory Committee Hearing

On Wednesday August 14 from 4-6pm you can participate in and make your voice heard at the 6th Annual Youth Voter Assistance Advisory Committee Hearing. At this event you will have the opportunity to share your thoughts and concerns about voting, the electoral process, and local government in New York City. Our city wants to hear from you to ensure voting is inclusive for all and takes into consideration your needs! Some potential topics for discussion:

  • Why is it important for young people to participate in local elections?
  • What steps should New York City take to increase youth voter turnout?
  • What are some of the barriers that young people face while registering or pre-registering to vote?
  • If you voted before, what was your experience like voting in your first election? How did it feel to make your voice heard?
