As the end of the semester approaches, I want to praise our students for their inspiring dedication to their studies and to thank our faculty and staff for their steadfast commitment to John Jay. I look forward to welcoming you back next semester, hopefully well rested and re-energized.  

One of our key initiatives for the last year and a half has been developing a 2025-2030 strategic plan. Today, I’m pleased to share the draft framework for your review. You can provide comments via this feedback form as well as through facilitated conversations with departments and units, meetings with governance bodies and open forums during the spring semester. The review process begins this week and will remain open until early March. 

The draft framework is the result of 18 months of work by the Strategic Planning Subcommittee (SPS) of the College Council, which has conducted focus groups and forums, met with governance groups, completed an environmental scan and reviewed research, data, accreditation reports and other documents. You can find more information about the process, including the strategic planning calendar and feedback form, here. I am grateful to both the voting and visiting members of SPS for their hard work and to you for your engagement.
