Bio
Francisco A. Medina, PhD, is an interdisciplinary scholar and educator who works across human development, education, psychology, and science studies. His work explores knowledge co-generation in teaching and learning, with a particular interest in how learners interpret, question, and sometimes misunderstand disciplinary knowledge, and how these encounters can transform disciplinary approaches to knowledge and practice. This work centers relational and reparative pedagogies, with a particular interest in how education and professional formation can help learners critically examine the histories and legacies of their fields, and imagine more ethical and reparative forms of practice. He has also worked in higher education teaching and learning centers and as an educational consultant, with experience in curriculum development, pedagogical workshops, and assessment. He has received several fellowships and awards, including the Mellon Humanities Alliance Fellowship, the Carnegie Educational Technology Fellowship, and graduate student awards from the American Educational Research Association.
