Support survivors and victims of sexual assault by writing an encouraging message on denim in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Denim Day is a worldwide movement that began after a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court to overturn a rape conviction as the justices felt that the victim consented because she was wearing tight jeans. Following this ruling, the women in the Italian Parliament wore jeans in solidarity with the victim. Since then, this annual campaign raises awareness to victim blaming and myths surrounding sexual violence. Participating in our project is an opportunity to challenge the misconceptions about sexual violence.
