If I wasn't an Academic Advisor I would have been a historian.

My majors in college were Criminology and Latin American & Latinx Studies and I chose them because I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of how systems shape crime in marginalized communities and to work towards solutions that prioritize prevention, equity, and community well-being. I also aimed to deepen my understanding of Latinx histories and diasporic experiences in the United States, grounding my work in culturally responsive frameworks that support community empowerment.

The top three life skills that I've learned in college:
1) Adaptability.
2) Social-emotional aptitude.
3) Critical thinking.

My favorite poem is:
ni la tormenta pudo destruir su jardín
ni las desilusiones sus sueños
ni el rechazo las esperanzas
ni la crítica su poca seguridad
ni el silencio sus sentimientos
se mantuvo constantemente floreciendo a punt de esos rayos de sol que venían desde lo más alto del universo
(Omara Fernanda)

If my life had a theme song it would be Hasta La Raiz by Natalia Lafourcade.
