Hello All. My name is Bettina Muenster (full bio) and I am the Assistant Director of OSRC. I have been working in this office since it was created in 2017. Every year, I look forward to providing students with a wide array of services and opportunities to support students' research experiences and creative projects. In addition to the OSRC scholarship program, I offer personal advisement to all students at the College. At the end of every year, I coordinate the Research & Creativity Expo where students across all disciplines showcase their research accomplishments. If you are interested in research or have any general questions, please do not hesitate to stop by our office, located at 204.01 HH or email us at osrc@jjay.cuny.edu. My student staffers and I continue to look forward to serving those part of the John Jay Community!

Hi, my name is Lisa Haye (full bio), and I am an economics major at John Jay College, and a Research & Administrative Assistant in the Office for Student Research & Creativity. My major has exposed me to the quantitative details that factor into a strong research project, and I am excited to learn more about research processes and interact with new people and ideas. OSRC not only pairs student researchers with suitable faculty mentors, but also encourages all students to express themselves creatively in the pursuit of answering big questions. Hi! My name is Caitlin Baker (full bio) and I am a senior double majoring in forensic psychology and deviance, crime, & culture and minoring in anthropology. I am currently a Research and Administrative Assistant in the Office for Student Research and Creativity (OSRC). Through my courses, I’ve learned the importance of research in the real world, and how it is the foundation for all the knowledge we have today. The OSRC is a perfect example of this, and the office provides students a great opportunity to apply for a scholarship and showcase their work. I’m so excited to be working with this team to uplift the John Jay community through research, mentoring, and overall support.

Tianna Polk

Hi, my name is Tianna J. Polk (full bio), and I'm a student at John Jay College pursuing a B.S. in human services & community justice with a minor in counseling. As a first-generation college student, I'm passionate about youth development, mental health advocacy, and creative expression through dance. I've served in roles like guest speaker for Jobs First NYC, Youth Development Specialist at the Harlem Boys & Girls Club, and a researcher with Young Invincibles. Through my program, Tianna's Dance Expression, I combine movement and emotional wellness to promote healing and self-esteem. My ultimate plan is to pursue an MSW to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Certified Dance Movement Therapist, with the vision of opening a therapeutic dance studio for children with special needs and low-income families. I look forward to serving the community.
